曹斐當代中國年青藝術家在第十屆伊斯坦雙年展以虛擬動畫「人民城寨」裝置說全球城市的虛擬性。以虛擬說虛擬，我還是喜歡幾年前她初出道以探討珠江三角洲工廠民工的「誰的烏托邦？」。那時她的裝置技術未必成熟，但她能以很個人角度「說」出了民工的境況。我看到的是民工每天替一家外資工廠生產燈泡，送出光明，照在人前，但是他們的前路卻一點也不光明。曹斐把民工在宿舍的二呎床位，就是他們唯一的私人空間拍下成照片展示。我看到牆上貼滿他們的夢想，當明星、舞蹈家的，似是遙不可及，令我印象很深刻。China Tracy is a famous Chinese young artist now. She participates the 10th Istanbul Biennial by “RMB City”, using animation, a virtual medium talking about the state of virtual-reality in China under globalization. A virtual space represents our virtual-reality is not so interesting to me, but I remember another work, ‘Whose Utopia?’, that I saw in ShangHai. Although the technique of presentation is not mature, her very personal angel of representation impressed me. It is an installation in search of the utopia of Chinese workers. They produce neon lights in factory and brighten people’s lives, but the conflict is, their own lives seems not brighten. I saw many photos showing their private space, the wall besides their bed (2x6ft.), contains their dreams. They drew or paste their dream there…want to be a dancer, want to be a star, sketch of their dream home…etc. What a pity is utopia is nowhere.

“The Truth is Out There”究竟應釋作「真相就在這裡」? 還是「真相大白」？為霍士電視台製作近160集 燴炙人口的電視劇X檔案的導演與監製Kim Manners因肺癌引致併發症於2009年1月25日，享年59歲。

“The Truth is Out There.” Kim Manners, the television producer and director on Fox series “The X-Files” died January 25,2009 of complications lung cancer.
