環球的金融海嘯促進了特區政府推動創意工業。要攪好經濟,開拓創意工業,香港近日還有個「創意辦公室」存放創造力。在某研討會上,一位「創意階層」的研究學者被問到:「香港的創意辦公室應放置甚麼東西去增強我們的創造力呢?」「創造力可否被量化來計算?」種種尋找創造力的途徑,又怎可少了創意教育工程呢?原來近年專上的創意教育蓬勃發展。數據顯示,今年提供與視覺文化有關的文憑、學士、碩士課程學位便超過2,200個。專上創意教育課程近年大增,矛盾的是,「三三四新高中課程」的選修制度將使講求創意的視覺藝術科變成了「殺科」重災區,選修視覺藝術科的人數正逐年遞減。若以上述的創造力量化計算:是否專上提供大量創意教育必然有利香港創造力?當香港不知不覺進入創意教育期時,我們今期以三位視覺藝術者之訪問作初探。「起點」是藝術系畢業生詠詩談香港視覺藝術教育的學習經驗,「中點」是藝術界反斗星羅文樂,從他在港英兩地接受的創意教育,談到是如何跟MBA學位有關。「終點」以視覺藝術教育的再生產者,香港教育學院的黎明海副教授談「新高中課程」的影響。


The global financial crisis gives rise to the promotion of creative industry. Creativity industry is regarded as a remedy of the financial crisis, and recently a “Creativity Office” has been introduced to “store” the creativity.  In a seminar, a scholar was asked what we should have in the “Creativity Office” in order to boost our creativity, and if it is possible to quantify creativity. To foster creativity, Creativity Education is a vital way.  Creativity education has been a growing trend in post-secondary levels.  The statistics reveal that there are more than 2,200 visual arts-related courses in certificate, undergraduate and postgraduate levels this year. Ironically, the introduction of elective subjects into the new "334" academic structure adversely affects creativity subjects like Visual Arts, and the number of people taking Visual Arts has been declining.  For quantification of creativity, one may ask if creativity education at a higher (post-secondary or tertiary) level definitely contributes to creativity in Hong Kong. This issue of CultaMap delves into Creative Education in terms of three interviews with visual artists.  In the first interview, WingSze, a Fine Arts graduate talked about their experiences of Hong Kong visual arts education.  Man-lok Law in the second interview explained the association of the MBA degree and the creativity education he had in both Hong Kong and UK.  Ming-hoi Victor Lai, the Associate Professor of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, examines the influence of the new "334" academic structure on visual arts development.
